Amy Scanlan Cook, DVM

I grew up in southern New Hampshire on a farm with veterinarians for parents. I knew that I wanted to be a vet from the time that I could form words. One of my earliest memories is standing on a chair behind the counter in the reception area trying to convince my parents' clients that I was the vet they were seeing for their appointment.

I live on a small farm in Vermont with my husband and 3 children. We have a herd of goats and many dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, horses, rabbits, a cow, and a hampster. We have a large vegetable garden and enjoy trying to grow as much of our own food as possible. I homeschool my kids until 9th grade, and so have one in high school and 2 that come to work with me and do their schoolwork during my work day. I also coach soccer in the fall and high school winter and spring track.

I have practiced veterinary medicine in the area for 15 years. Owning a clinic is a new venture for me and I am enjoying it. I feel strongly about treating each person and their pet as individuals and believe in clear and direct communication. I especially enjoy working with clients on behavioral issues they are having with their pets. Above all else, I love animals and feel lucky to spend my day with them.
